Overview
The elements and the opposition are going to have a major impact on your feelings about Clydesdale. It’s exposed, and you can’t necessarily rely on the home crowd to bring the energy. But on the right day this is a great place to be. With the sun shining, and with paella in hand, it’s pretty blissful. The facilities are predictably Spartan, all temporary toilets and aged lawn chairs, but you can let that go when the conditions are right and just embrace the weirdness and wonder of tier two T20. Take the gamble, and it’s a big one, that it’ll be a sunny day in Glasgow and get involved.
Score Summaries
Atmosphere & Experience: 7
If Nepal are in town, go. Don’t think twice. It’ll be worth it. If the weather looks good, go. You’re very likely to be able to get a ticket on the door. Why not? Have you really got something better to be doing? I don’t believe you.
Seats: 7
You’ll be on a plastic lawn chair. But you’ll be right on the boundary, or just behind it on the gently sloping grass bank in one corner of the ground. Keep your wits about you, though. The boundaries aren’t big and you might be on the receiving end of a six.
Catering: 9
The paella available at the 2025 T20I series was off the charts delicious, so it’s doing the heavy lifting for this score. Cold Town beer from Edinburgh was available on tap. The lager’s pretty good.
Facilities: 4
It’s all very basic. But this is a club ground unused to large crowds, so it’s to be expected.
Getting There: 8
A straightforward train journey from Glasgow Central to Crossmyloof or Maxwell Park, followed by a short walk.
Getting Away: 8
Crowds aren’t large, so you won’t have to queue for the train back. Trains run roughly every half hour.
