Cacio e Pepe Polpette Roll

The Stadio Olimpico’s fan park has a truly impressive selection of food on offer. There are Italian delicacies galore amongst a generous array of stadium classics. Sometimes such an embarrassment of choices can overwhelm and lead to poor decisions (ever tried picking a film on Netflix without a very specific idea of what you want to watch?). This is exactly what happened to me when, having done a couple of laps of the food stalls, I settled out of desperation on Pret a Polpette’s cacio e pepe polpette roll. Half-cooked polpette, lacking much flavour and seasoning, are crammed into a supermarket value hotdog roll and drizzled with a substance that purports to be aioli. It doesn’t taste bad, but you can’t help shooting jealous glares at the many people around you tucking into much better-looking pizzas, arancini, and burgers. You’d do well to go elsewhere.
